Anyone else had their Ford battery give up in this summer heat?

I swear, this is the third summer in a row where my Ford Focus just refuses to start after being parked outside for a few hours. Yesterday I was stuck in the Spinneys parking lot for nearly an hour before a guy helped me jump it. I’ve been reading up on what actually works here in Dubai because the heat just eats batteries alive, and I came across a few people mentioning they went with a Trusted Ford Car Battery Dubai service that does the replacement on the spot. Has anyone here actually used one of those mobile fitting services? I’m a bit skeptical about paying without seeing the battery first, but honestly I’m desperate after being stranded twice this month. Do they test the alternator too or just swap the battery and leave?

  • Third summer in a row with the same symptom points past the battery alone. Ask for a charging system test before anyone swaps anything, because a weak alternator will kill a fresh battery in a year. If a service won't test it, that's a bad sign.

  • Spinneys parking lot for an hour in that heat sounds brutal. Glad someone stopped to help. Being stranded twice in a month is enough to make anyone want it sorted properly.

  • My Fiesta did the same thing, dead every few weeks after sitting outside. Had a mobile guy come to my building, and he put the old one on a tester right in front of me before swapping it. Ask if you can watch that part, it settles the skepticism.

  • Focus models with start-stop need an AGM, and a cheap flooded one won't survive the cycling in this heat. Match the group size and CCA to the old label, and check the date sticker on the new one before it goes in. Some of the newer ones also want the battery registered after fitting.

  • How old is the battery now, and did the previous two summers end with replacements or just jumps? Also, did they quote you a flat price with fitting included? That would help figure out if it's the battery or something draining it.
