Multiple components per block

G'day folks --

At the risk of raising a newbie issue, there appears to be no way to add multiple components to a block. I say appears, because I am likely missing something...

I have put in some body text and successfully added an accordion component. Now I want to add some further text below the accordion. I can do this with another block, but that creates a big space when I don't label the block.

Thanks!

David

  • Hi David,

Thanks for your post! You can only have two components in a block, but there are ways around this with some CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).

The padding from the block under the accordion can be removed with these steps:

Step 1: Add a class to the block. This needs to be on the block. If it is added to a component, it won’t work. (See image 1)

Step 2: Add this CSS to the CSS/less box in the project settings. (See image 2)

I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to reach out if we can help further!

  • Thanks Ellie.

In the end, I did what I wanted using a table in a text block. Or maybe a component, I forget now. The Table component was neither intuitive to use nor reliable in its laying out. Some questions arising:

    1. Where would I report bugs and/or feature requests?
    2. Publishing results in a zip file. What do I do with that?
    3. The blurb talks about "microlearning on smartphones". How does that work? It's not explained anywhere.

    Thanks. David

  • Hi David,

Thank you for your questions. The answers are listed below:

    1. Feel free to email me at enquiries@app-elearn.com for any bugs or feature requests.
    2. If you publish to SCORM, it'll display as a zip file that gets uploaded into a learning management system. If you publish as HTML, you can unzip it and play it locally or connect the launch file to a button on a website for example.
    3. Once you have your course published and loaded on a learning management system or website, you can view it on your smartphone. Microlearning is an industry term often used to describe short and sharp learning resources/courses.

I hope this is helpful and answers your questions. Please feel free to email me if I can help with anything else.
